Yes, please join our waitlist. Spots will be offered first-come, first-serve as they become available. When a spot becomes available, a representative from the Women’s Barbell Classic will contact you via email. You will be given a specified timeframe to reply that you are interested in competing and must confirm by the deadline. If you do not reply, you have forfeited your spot and we will move to the next person on the waitlist.

Yes, you are able to change information like your weight class, for example, anytime prior to the event. Contact wbc-ia@raisethebarinitiative.com with your updated information.
-
If you are signed up for the event, but are no longer able to compete for any reason, please contact wbc-ia@raisethebarinitiative.com. That allows us to try and backfill your spot with someone on the waitlist.
Registration for the Women’s Barbell Classic is non-refundable. Upon receipt of your email, we will issue you a tax deductible receipt for your registration fee. You will also not be eligible for the swag bag due to receiving the tax deduction.
-
No, we do not issue refunds under any circumstances. We will provide a donation receipt so you can use the deduction on your 2024 taxes.
If you registered via the Early Bird Team Registration and your team filled your spot, no refund will be issued by the organization. It is up to the lifter to recoup that money from the team captain or the person taking their spot.
-
No, you cannot transfer your spot to another lifter. We have a waitlist so the Women’s Barbell Classic Committee will be selecting your replacement from the waitlist.
-
Yes, if you registered for the event through the Early Bird Team Registration you have the option to substitute a lifter in your spot. Substitutions can begin starting October 27, 2024. Deadline to make edits to your team is March 16, 2024 at 5pm. Email wbc-ia@raisethebarinitiative.com and provide the name of the original lifter and all relevant lifting information for the replacement lifter. Note that WBC is not responsible for financial transactions between substitutes as the team captain provided the original total payment. Payment transactions will occur between the lifters. Refunds are not an option. Substitutions for individual and team registration outside of Early Bird Team Registration will not be allowed.
Teams
-
A team is a minimum of 8 women/girls on a team (no less).
When registering an Early Bird Team (on October 19, 2024), team size is set at 8 — no more, no less, no exceptions.
When registering a team during regular Team Registrations (starting October 27), team sizes can have more than 8 members per team
Additional team members can be added to teams prior to March 16, 2025.

Yes, we’re only allowing 15 teams to register during Early Bird registration. Then it will be stopped until it’s time to open up for Individual Registration.
-
Yes, just remember that each team must have a full roster of 8 members. If you would like to register multiple teams, we will reduce the cost of additional teams to $1,500. Email the Women’s Barbell Classic Committee before October 18, 2024, 5pm at wbc-ia@raisethebarinitiative.com to receive a promo code to use at checkout. Sharing of the code does not guarantee being able to register multiple teams due to the limited number of teams for sale. The same Registration Requirements apply as outlined above.
-
Yes, you will have the opportunity to add WBC individual registered lifters to your team Early Bird Team in addition to the 8 that you register starting October 27, 2024. Email wbc-ia@raisethebarinitiative.com the following information of new lifters joining your team (note, they must already be registered for the WBC to be eligible to join your team):
First and Last Name
Phone Number
Email Address

Deadline to make updates to your team is March 16, 2025, 5pm. You are allowed to update the contact information and age division, weight class or competition of an existing register lifter; to designate another existing member of your team as the team captain; or update your team name. Substitutions and transfers or teammates are not permitted unless your team was registered as part of the Early Bird Registration.
WBC Committee reserves the right to evaluate the lifter changes and determine if the changes suggest a substitution which would forfeit the lifter.
-
That depends on when you registered your team:
Did you register as an Early Bird Team? If so, the answer is yes. You have the ability to substitute in a new person on your team whether they have already individually registered for the event or not. Deadline to make edits to your team is March 16, 2025 at 5pm.
Did you register as a regular team? If so, the answer is no. Lifter substitutions for individual and team registration outside of Early Bird Team Registration will not be allowed.
-
WBC uses the Wilks Score. It is a mathematical coefficient based on a person’s relative strength taking into consideration a person’s weight. The team score is created by adding the top 8 Wilks coefficient. The highest total wins. Note that if a person on your team competes in bench press or deadlift only, their Wilks coefficient will be considerably less than someone who competes in both (push/pull).
-
The team captain's responsibility is to be the primary point person between the team and WBC. They will receive all team communications from WBC and it is their responsibility to communicate those updates to the team, as well as to communicate updates to the WBC Committee in regards to roster changes prior to the event.

Equipment/Apparel
-
No singlets required, but you must wear form-fitting clothes so the judges can determine whether your attempt meets the applicable standards (for example, whether your butt stays in contact with the bench at all times during a bench press attempt). If you are wearing a shirt that makes it difficult for the judges to determine whether you are meeting the applicable standards, the judges may ask you to tuck it in.
-
Yes, you must wear a shirt during the bench press and deadlift events. A tank top classifies as a shirt. If you are questioning whether your tank top would classify as a sports bra, you need to err on the side of caution.
-
You can wear either! If you chose to wear shorts then you are required to wear deadlift socks. Deadlift socks cover the entire shin and go up just below the knee. If you are wearing leggings then there's no need for deadlift socks.
-
Yes, shoes must be worn for both the bench press and deadlift portion. During the deadlift you can wear deadlift slippers. Socks only are not option.

-
The following awards will be given out at the 2025 Women’s Barbell Classic:
